Thank you so
much for your support with Dreambox so far this year! The kids are showing
a lot of progress, and I appreciate the time you spend at home making sure that
your child completes their 60 minutes each week.
For 2nd
Trimester, we are going to grade Dreambox a little differently. Instead of
a weekly grade based on the amount of time spent on Dreambox, I will be setting
individual 2nd Trimester goals based on unique lessons completed with each of
my students. This will work much like your child's AR goal and will be one
grade towards their final math grade for 2nd Trimester. I will tell your child
how many unique lessons they completed during the 1st Trimester, and we will
set a goal based on that number for 2nd Trimester. (I will send this
information home for you to review as well.) Students are still expected to
complete 90 minutes of Dreambox each week (60 minutes at home and 30
minutes at school). Instead of the weekly grade, students will receive conduct
checks for not completing 60 minutes at home each week. Please continue to let
me know if you have internet/computer issues that interfere with your child
completing their 60 minutes. I understand that some weeks are busier than
others, so I will be forgiving if your child is short a few minutes here and
there. They will only receive a conduct check if they are habitually short on
their 60 minutes each week.
We have been
asked to change the days that we check our Dreambox times so that all
three grade levels are on the same page. Remember,
a week in DreamBox starts over each Sunday morning through the following
Saturday night. I apologize for any confusion that this may cause, but
hopefully this will make it easier for parents with children in different grade
levels.
